Update from the Fort: Episode 02, New Website, Paper & Tent
Hey Kidz! Time for another update from within the Fort.
First of all, happy new year kidz! Hope you had a great 2021 (despite everything) and have an even greater 2022. Cheers to new beginnings! We’re super excited for this new year and everything that is coming. The idea is to give a general update regarding the project, our focus, and sort of give an overview of the things we’ve been working on for the last weeks/months.
Episode 02
Naturally, our main focus, right now, is on getting Episode 02 ready for launch. We’ve been hard at work here developing every detail, fleshing out the world and the regions, and obviously crafting the art. As you have already seen, the new art team is killing it with Sampo on all their new creations for Episode 02: the backgrounds, the assets, and the kidz are turning out amazing, truly leveling up the art game!
As you know, we are doing the antenna hunt activity, which has slowly been revealing the Fort Gotten World map and has already shown the First Region and Camp for Episode 02, OOLA. As we find more antennas, we will discover new regions and/or camps for Episode 02.
We still don’t have a specific date set up for the release of Episode 02, but we’re aiming for the first quarter of this year.
New Website
Another thing we have been slowly working on is a refresh for our website! We haven’t really done an update since the launch of the project and it's totally overdue. A lot of our tools are just links spread around and there is not much info about the project in general. We are addressing all these comments and finally re-doing our website to have a much more solid structure and better usability and information in general.
We are also looking to make the project a bit more accessible to newcomers, so they can easily find information about the world, the kidz, the regions, and everything else regarding Fort Gotten. The idea is not to only make the project more accessible, but be able to present things in a clear manner even for people who have supported the project from the start.
Fort Gotten Paper
As much as newcomers need basic information, we know early supporters of the projects want more. For that, we have been putting all that we have in mind in some sort of structured document, like a Whitepaper.
This document has helped us greatly as putting things in writing gave us new clarity regarding lots of things, and we hope this clarity can be translated to the community regarding the plans and ideas we have for the Project.
We want to be transparent on what we are working on and what we envision for Fort Gotten, and would love to hear your opinions and feedback regarding what we have envisioned. We hope you can take the time to join us on this journey! Should we do it live in the campfire? Leave a comment if so!
The Trading Tent
Oh boy, we really wanted to share this with you! We have been working on this for months now, Astro has put an insane amount of work into getting this up and running while taking care of every technical aspect to guarantee the safety of the users.
If you still don’t know what Tent is, it’s a service that allows 2 users to exchange any Native Cardano Asset in a single transaction: live and instantly. All happening in a secure environment made possible by Cardano’s eUTXO model and multi-signature transactions.
That means that with Tent you can trade NFT, tokens, and/or ADA between 2 wallets in real-time.
We are really proud of this project, and we love the idea of contributing not just to our art & storytelling project, but to the Cardano community and space in general. Trading NFTs has not been possible securely and instantly, for the most part, so we hope the community finds this tool useful!
Naturally, even if this is a project separate from Fort Gotten, we tried to have the concepts sort of tied up, that’s why we went with the idea of a Trading Tent. Additionally, we also want kid-holders to get special perks, like 50% discount for the trading fees.
If you want to follow this project, you can join Discord, follow us on Twitter, or visit the Website. This will be launching publicly soon, so be sure to follow us!
Closing words
Well then, we think those are most of the things we wanted to share for the moment. Thank you for reading through, we really appreciate it! The new website and the whitepaper should be coming real soon, we’re just getting the last details ready.
See you at the camps, and as always, thanks for everything.
The First Fort Gotten Kidz, Carlos, Robbur, Sam.
