The Art Tent is getting bigger
GM everyone! The art team wanted to make a small update about the status of the project, and more importantly, the team itself. TL;DR, new team members for the art department, hence, we need a bigger tent.
As you may (or may not) know, Episode 0 and Episode 1 were made entirely by one artist and one of the first kidz, Sampo. All of the backgrounds, assets, and marketing designs were carefully crafted to be appealing, different, and full of different clues, Easter eggs, and small puzzles.
As we entered episode 1, we started getting support from another artist in order to make a more interdisciplinary project and unlock different and new NFTs, like the first short comic. This piece involved 2 new artists in the mix: Ernesto Saade, a graphic novel illustrator from El Salvador, and Defie Mazariego, a full-time illustrator and graffiti artist that helped with the cover. Both of them worked closely with the team and had direct input from Sampo, both conceptually and art-wise.
The Fort Gotten Chronicles series will leave on record the real-life interactions of the community with a little bit of storytelling & art expression describing the major events of the project, living forever in the blockchain.
Now, as we prepare for episode 2 and continue to fulfill our roadmap from Episode 1, we’re happy to announce that we will continue to collaborate with them and add two new artists to the team!
Ernesto will continue to work on the second comic and help us tell stories that are connected straight from the community and the lore of Fort Gotten.
Defie joined the team with Fidel Huezo, a full-time 3D designer, and artist, that joined the team full-time the first days of November and had been working on Episode 2 and other aspects of the project since then.
All concept art and lore are done for the most part, and the team has already started working on assets and backgrounds for the new episode. Everything is still being directed by Sampo and worked as a team, as the first kidz have always done. You can see one of the first glimpses with the concept art and PFP from the Collector.
And last, but not least, Twobe, a fellow illustrator and graffiti artist, will be joining in to help us with some of the merch designs we’ve been working on.
We will be sharing a quick interview with all of them here in the medium so everyone gets to know them better and get to know their art first hand.
Thanks for reading this through and your support, we’re focusing on this project as much as it is physically possible (and then some) and are happy to be fulfilling the roadmap we envisioned from the beginning.
The Fort Gotten Team,
Carlos, Roberto & Sam
