Fort Gotten: Building Beyond the Bear Market

Hey everyone! 👋 We felt it was time to do a general update for the project in general and let you all know what’s going on and what our focus has been. You might have already seen some of the new things, but we just wanted to be clear about our plans for the project and what is coming next!

Exploring New Old Frontiers

As you probably have already seen, we recently launched our new collection: Wandering.

This was a drop a long time in the making, exploring not only merch but also stickers, prints, and a pre-order for an illustrated booklet by Sampo. A thematic drop with a multitude of both digital and physical collectibles. Our first venture into creating a product collection that merged both the physical and the digital worlds.

We’ve always prized ourselves in being a multimedia company, and while we have been constantly exploring and trying new mediums, most of the time we had confined ourselves to the digital world. We love the unlimited possibilities of digital products/experiences, and nobody can ignore the host of challenges that the physical world presents: production, shipping, logistics, costs, prototyping, testing, etc. Even more challenging is the fact that both our audience and our team are spread all over the world!

But with this drop, we went Fort Gotten with ourselves: it was about exploring our creativity, about creating, about products and collectibles, about stories, about the world. Fort Gotten is and has always been our stage to explore our creativity, and that is and will always be the core of our project. This new “Collection” method gives us a more focused and structured way to create and allows us to explore our creativity in new ways.

With this new product-oriented approach, we also hope to reach new audiences beyond exclusively NFT-crypto people. We believe this is an essential stepping stone to growing the project and reaching mainstream audiences, to eventually introduce them to the digital ecosystem.

To be clear, we are not dropping a new collection every month, they are bigger drops that take more time to produce and get right, with a lot of moving parts. There is no estimated timeline as we are still exploring this new approach, but we will always continue building and expanding our ecosystem even if there isn’t a big collection released that month.

NFTs are still the future

Now, we want to be really clear, this doesn’t mean we will now turn into a merch company and rug NFTs. While we love creating merch and physical products, we love NFTs and digital experiences as much. That’s why with this first drop, we decided to explore merging both the physical and the digital world of Fort Gotten, integrating the collection into our existing ecosystem.

This means that we have prepared collection-related items for all our systems: equips for the Wardrobe, rewards for The Vending Machine, assets for the Photobooth, recipes for the Workbench (coming soon), etc.

Additionally, we’ve prepared a special digital collectible exclusive to the Collection. This NFT you can get in 2 ways: either when purchasing any item from the collection, or by purchasing it stand-alone.

Again, our goal has always been to create an amazing ecosystem using the Fort Gotten universe as the stage and platform, so this new focus has allowed us to expand that vision to what it was supposed to be: a multimedia experience.

We truly believe this new approach will allow us not only to better explore our own creativity and the Fort Gotten world but will also allow us to grow the project to new audiences while building and enhancing our existing NFT ecosystem.
